With a multidisciplinary approach, Hans Op de Beeck focuses his
attention on the way we behave in space, in time, and with each other.
With his three-dimensional works, which may be architectural, cinematic
or photographic, he takes us to family situations and modern urban
landscapes which conjure up feelings of rootlessness, melancholy and
the absurdity of existence.

Fred Eerdekens follows in the long tradition of artists who look at
the tension between language and figurative art. He examines this
relationship in works which, at first glance, seem literally illegible.
The precision of the light, shade and positions in space nevertheless
reveal words, and illuminate the work making it intelligible.
The poetry of materials, the way he plays with light and shade, words
and images, give rise to surprising aesthetic effects, playing on
words, somewhere between visibility and legibility.

Lives and works in Brussels.
It was back in 1978 that the Belgian artist Bob Verschueren chose to
start using only natural materials for his creations. And so were born
his Wind Paintings (pigments spread out by the wind) and Lights
Paintings (working with light in nature).
These installations have been created according to where they take
place, and executed using vegetable and mineral products collected from
the surrounding area. These ephemeral creations only last as long as
the exhibition, leaving behind only photographs to prove they ever
existed.

Live in Napa, California.
The endless use of expressions such as “globalisation” and “global
village” might make us all but forget that there are still huge
cultural gaps which are nowhere near to being bridged! This is what the
American photographer Peter Menzel sets out to illustrate in his own
way, by focusing his lens on the nutritional habits of our fellow human
beings in all four corners of the earth.
